In the very heart of The Netherlands at the well known and multimodal accessible business park Lage Weide in Utrecht a state-of-the-art distribution centre is being developed: “Lage Weide DC” will be available 1st of December 2019.

“Lage Weide DC” is an unique logistic development located right off the highway A2-E25 In Utrecht (Amsterdam – Maastricht) and within 5 minutes the motorway A12- E30 (Rotterdam-Arnhem).

The complex will be certified according to the BREEAM-NL New Build, whereby the basic principle for certification level will be ‘Very good’. The complex comprises approx. 14,865 m2 of logistic space, approx. 1,676 m2 mezzanine floor and approx. 500 m2 of office space. If required extra office space can be added. The complex can be split in two separate units if necessary.

“Lage Weide DC” will be developed in accordance with all the modern specifications for warehousing like: a clear stacking height of 12.20 meters, a super flat concrete floor (Din 15.185) maximum floor load of 5,000 kg/m2, 20 loading docks, 2 doors at ground level and separate traffic flows for trucks and passenger vehicles and 99 car parking facilities.

In addition, “Lage Weide DC” is located very close to Utrecht city center. This makes it a perfect location for both national distribution and “last-mile” logistics companies. For example Kuehne+Nagel, DHL, PicNic,, C. van Heezik, UPS, Hema are all located at Business Park Lage Weide.

Location and accessibility
Business Park Lage Weide is situated in the very heart of The Netherlands adjoining the A2 motorway (Amsterdam – Maastricht). Within 5 minutes the motorway A12 (Rotterdam-Arnhem) is accessible and therefore the surrounding road network offers the most central location in the Netherlands and excellent connections to the Port of Rotterdam, Schiphol Airport, Belgium and Germany.

Business Park Lage Weide also has excellent public transport connections. Utrecht Central Station is situated at 5 kilometers from the business park and has train and bus services to various cities in the Netherlands. At this moment there are various direct public bus services (lines 38 and 138) between the train/ bus station (Utrecht Central Station, Maarssen train station and Utrecht Leidsche Rijn train station) and Business Park Lage Weide. The journey time by bus between Business Park Lage Weide and Utrecht Central Station is only 13 minutes.

Business Park Lage Weide has its own barge terminal (CTU) at the Amsterdam-Rijn canal, located within approx. 800 meters from Lage Weide DC Utrecht. The container terminal is operated by CTU, which is part of the Theo Pouw Group. The terminal in Utrecht features a loading and unloading quay with a length of 200 meters, a dock crane and a reefer stack to provide temperature controlled containers with electricity. With frequent transits to, amongst others, the Port of Rotterdam with a transit time of 8 hours make sure that there are excellent intermodal possibilities for transport from and towards the Mesonweg in Utrecht.
